Page 2 - Thursday, January 8, 2015 - The Glenville Democrat The Glenville Pathfinder - Glenville, WV 26351 By Rose Workman For the third year in row, community minded ladies Kathy McCumbers and Diane Goodrich, along with a lot of help from their families, organized a wonderfnl Christmas party for the children of the Rosedale area. This year, with the addition to the Community Center building, the celebration was even better. Familes were invited to the yearly event and asked to bring a specific food item to make for a huge pot luck dinner that was not to be missed! Guests enjoyed everything from ham, turkey and mashed potatoes to pizza, hot dogs and plenty of sweet deserts and breads. Kathy's daughters, Danielle Lilly and Nicole Cottrell, as well as others, helped serve the long line of neighbors that were attendance. Ninety children, babies to teens, were given gifts and candy treats by Santa Claus, who made the special stop in Rosedale on Sat., Dec. 20. Carlos Cottrill actually filled in for Santa, and he was much appreciated and was a very good spoil:. The hard work of the Next Step Ministries to finish up the addition on the Community Center this summer made the Christmas party much more enjoy- able as there was a lot more room for everyone to move around. The children enjoyed watchhlg Frozen in the new room, while the adults visited in the dining area before dinner. Then, everyone moved into the addition to take pictures of the children on Santa's lap and see them open their presents. All the gifts would have never have been possible without the generous donations of the following people and businesses: Verner and Goldie Goodrich, Jack and Clarice Bums, Charlie and Burnice Hall, Rick and Nicole CottreU, Dannielle and David Lilly, Vonnie Goodrich, Dana Recknagle, Jeff Brown, Mallory Maples, Bi Con Services, Inc. (Gassaway), Richie Roach (Roach Ftmeral Home,Gassaway),Harts Pro Hardware (Main St.,Gassaway),Danielle McCumbers, Sherry Belknap, Douglas Salisbury, Danny and Kristin Cottrill, !!ii!ii! ii!iiiiiii/i i!! i i iii,;iiiiii ii!i!iii i: i i,L :PICTURE PERFECT -- Morns and dads opportunity with their little ones and Santa i ................................................................................................................................................... were ready for the photo YOU'D BETTER WATCH OUT, YOU'D BETTER NOT... In addition to these contributors, Kathy and Diane also host an ,annual Easter Egg Hunt and a Halloween get-to-gether in Rosedale where they sell conces- sions to help raise money for the Christmas party.
