Pat's Chat Pat Ridpath, Burnsville 472-5102 or 888-294-5401 Computers Amazing for Children and Adults Sad news is again my opening state- ment. Charlotte Dean Forrest died January 4, exactly two months to the day after her sister, Jeanne, died. Be- sides nieces and nephews, this leaves only Roydetta Cutright, of those five Dean siblings. It is heartbreaking to think of. You may leave a message for Charlotte's family online at http:/ /obit. andrewsmortuary, com/obit- 621393. She lived at Kure Beach, NC. When Wally Hefner heard this news, he wrote that he had been think- ing about what beautiful daughters both the Sumpter and the Dean par- ents produced. He reminded me that Charlotte was the Homecoming Queen at Burnsville High School in 1954. I mentioned in the last Chat that Freddie Steele died and told a little about him and his sisters. The sisters, June Patterson and Nancy Kalinowski, discussed the statement about some or all of them never missing a day of school in their 12 years. Well. they decided that although there may have been some absent-free years, they don't think any of the three had a 12- year absent-free record. They also say they were always told it was two miles to school and two miles back. They were always so happy when they got to the Kelley house and Mr. Kelley, getting ready to go to school, would give them a ride. That cut off half of the mileage, t am sure. It is so very sad to report the.death of Mike and Debbie Cutright's son, Mike, on January 6. They live in Weston, and I worked with them at Sharpe Hospital. My deepest sympa- thy to that family. I just don't know how I could bear the loss of any of my children. May God comfort your hearts. If you use a website, the "http" part of that address is important to notice, if you are ordering something from a webpage. Always check to make sure the address is "https" instead of sim- ply "http." The "s" stands for "Se- cure," which means that you can safely enter your personal information at this site and no one can "eavesdrop" on your computer conversation. There is a secure code that prevents this if the address is "https (my thought is that I SUlpose that there is always the possibility that someone can break the code. but it is not likely. I act like I know what I am talking about, but I am telling you what l have learned from email, which does not mean that I understand it)." We invited some guests for lunch after church on Saturday. and Hannah. a seventh-grader, enjoyed gomg to on my laptop, a site for children• Pastor Shawn Boonstra also has adaily online spiritual boost for busy people called "A Better Way to Live." I am sure you will like it: bettetway. Hannah and her mother, Nancy, live outside of Elkins. We enjoyed a visit from Gary and Rebekah Garden and their son, Elias, on Sunday. They missed the family get-together at Thanksgiving time, so I was glad we got to visit for a while. They live at French Creek• Computers are amazing. My daugh- ter-in-law, Diana, likes the gift she got from my grandson, Brian Bucklew. It is an Amazon Kindle, a wireless reading device on which you can order almost any book and read it right there in this hand-held device about the size of a book. I think the cost of best-sellers is about $10. It is said to read like real paper (no bright screen that can be tiring on a com- puter). I checked it out, and they are sold out; they encourage customers to order now. so they will get them as soon as they are available. Maranatha means that Jesus is com- ing. My brother. Harry Wiant, Jr., of State College, PA. reminded me .to- day that we cannot know WHEN Jesus is coming, but the world could end for us at any moment. Are we getting to know Jesus. Whom to know is life eternal? CNC Operator Classes Scheduled Across the state The Robert C.
