Services were held Saturday, January 12, at Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home, Flatwoods, with the Rev. William Hoover and the Rev. Robert Holcomb officiat- ing. Burial was in Taylor Cem- etery. RICHARD 'CLARK' MINNEY Richard 'Clark' Minney, 63, of Stumptown, died Thursday, January 10, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after an extended illness. He was born May 11, 1927, in Gilmer County, a son of the late Sylvester and Mollie Reed Minney. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired Gilmer County schoolbus driver with 23 years of service. He was a well known auctioneer and farmer. He is survived by his wife, Idell Stump Minney; fives daughters, Glenda Martz and Darlene Helmick both of Glen- ville, and Sheila Mirmey of Ce- darville, Sharon Minney of Elyria, Ohio, Christine Kuepfer of Grafton, Ohio; one son, Ken- neth Minney of Glenville; two step-daughters, Sheila Garretson and Shirley Hupp both of Grantsville; one step-son, Jeffrey Stump of Wilmington, Dela- ware; three sisters, Ruby Cox of Buckhannon, Irene Payne of Ar- The Kitchen Table/Geraldine Marks one calf and arc ex- 'time. He was born in 1907, the same year his father died. Dcnzil and his wife Janice live in a lovely house built in 1813 by slaves. He said slaves were once sold on the porch of their home. Dcnzil stays busy with his gun shop and Janice makes beautiful quilts. She has made two cathedral window quills. I would like a picture of my grandpa Hemming and grandma Bertha Allen and their horse and buggy. Burial was in the Boggs Cemetery at Orton. COLETTA THOMPSON Coleta "Boots" Thompson, 56, of Glenville, died Friday, January 1 1, 1991, at the resi- dence of her sister following an extended illness. She was born in Bumsville, Braxton County, a daughter of Hazel B. Hardman of Weston and the late George D. Hardman. She was former owner and operator of Thompson Dry Cleaners. She was a member of the Glenville Extension Home- makers, Glenville Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She is survived by her hus- band, Russell Thompson; one son, Robert E. Thompson of Gl- enville; one brother, William R. Hardman of St. Marys; two sis- ters, Mrs. Billy "Marge" Burke of Sand Fork, Mrs. Norman "Sharon" West of St. Marys. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Services were held Monday, January 14, at the Spurgeon- Ellyson Mortuary with the Rev. Margaret Hurlbutt officiating. Burial was in the Sand Fork Cemetery. REX FREEMAN WIANT Rex Freeman Wiant, 89, of Linn, died Wednesday, January 9, 1991 at the residence of his daughter in Romney following a long illness.
