Sons of the Revolution in an effort to further observe our nation's bicentennial is conducting an Essay Centest. The subject of this Essay. 500 words or less. is to be, "The Role of the Career Center b present certificates Certification ceremony for night classes at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center will he held on Tuesday, April 13th at 7 p,m, Certificates will be given to all adults currently enrolled in a night class. Participants are asked to bring their family and friends along. A short program will preceed the awarding of certificates. Featured speaker for the evening has not been disclosed at this time. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served and the Center will he open for tours. Any one who was enrolled in the first semester but did not attend the ceremony fdr that class is urged to attend this ceremony. Normantown PTA to sponsor dance The Normantown PTA will sponsor a dance beginning at 7:30 p.m, on Saturday, April' 10 at the Normantown School. A special attraction will be featured with square dancers partici- pating. The PTA is also selling chances on a pony with the drawing at the dance. There will also be a cake walk and refreshments, There is a small admission charge, everyone is welcome. Patriots ol ,ustern Virginia in the Rewflutionary War". Tanner to hold fair Tanner Elementary School's an- nual art and science fair will he held on the 8th of April at the school. Student art exhibits will be displayed in the classroom. Science students will exhibit their projects in the gymnasium, Earth Science, Space Science, Electronics, Health, Plant Life, and Matter and Energy are the areas which science students will display exhibits. Ribbons will he awarded for first, second, and third places for each science category judged. Participation certificates will be given to all students who enter the art and science fair. Judging will be at 1:00 p.m. and the exhibits will be on display from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for the public. Gospel Singers tomeet The Gilmer County Gospel Singers Association will conduct their regular monthly sin8 this Saturday night at the Recreation Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. Featured this month will be "The Harold Family Singers," "The Har- monaires', "The Southernaires," and "The Sojourners," The pubhc is invited.
