Page 4B -- The Glenville Democrat Thursday, April 9, 2009 Cedarville News JoAnnWoodyard462_7093 Dinners and Bake Sales and Salt, Oh My ! My family and I want to wish ev- eryone a happy Easter weekend and a safe trip to and fro. Get-we[! wishes go out to Ruth Dobbins. Our Ladies' Club bake sale was a success; we appreciate all those who supported us. Our church group enjoyed singing with the patients at the nursing home. There was a nice crowd. Wayne and I had a nice visit with Jane and Jennings Law last Sunday. We attended the gospel meeting at the Gassaway Church of Christ one night last week and heard a great sermon. Tina Postalwait, Wayne and I went to the Senior Center's "Night in Paris" dinner and dance. If you didn't attend, you missed a good meal and a fun evening. Wayne was happy to get back to work at Cedar Creek State Park campgound, and to see the nice camp- ers. We need to remember all the sick and the soldiers in our prayers. Uses of Salt There are many uses of salt, be- sides the seasoning of food: A tiny pinch added to the whites of eggs before beating will make them froth quicker and stiffer; Add a little salt to the starch, when boiled; When sweeping, some coarse salt scattered on the carpets or rugs keeps down the dust and preyems moths: Throw salt on a fire to put t out: Salt and vinegar mixed will clean brass.
