.... L]IBIBJBBLm[]JLL-IJI*LL Jll! i[ [Rl!J]iILJ.t Kl L;IilEJlILII Pat's Chat Thursday, July 2, 2009 -- The (;lenville l)emocrat Page 7 Complaints still Pat Ridpath, Burnsville emerging over TV 472-5102 or 888,294-5401 digital change-over Appreciation Expressed for Concern for Robin I remain in Kansas City, helping my daughter, who has two broken arms from an automobile accident. She has limited use of her right arm, which has a cast for a broken wrist. She is doing more and more for her- self. Thank you for your prayers. Robin wants to thank everyone for the cards, calls, and other thoughtful en- couragement she has received. You can write to me at my regular e-mail address, as I can access it here, patschat.ridpath41 @gmaiL corn, or at wobbin @ webtv.net. Ii' you want to call me, use the cell-phone number that Sonny lets me use, 814-360-0653. Sonny has helped in ways too numer- ous to count throughout Robin's or- deal. My family in West Virginia is tak- ing good care 0f John. My aunt (Jean McNemar Haymond) sees that he gets something to eat every day and takes him to Walmart or wherever he needs to go. Mary Ann checks his medica- tions and sets them up. She also fixed what I hear was a delicious lunch on Saturday for him, Aunt Jean and her family - Bobble, Christy and Taylor. We definitely need each other at times like this. I received this e-mail the other day: "Pat, my sister, Ramona Sackett Ervin, who graduated from B urnsville High School in 1947, died June 10, 2009. She was at the Grafton Hospi- tal Skilled Nursing Center at the time of her death. She had lived in Buckhannon since 1986, 17)llowing her retirement from the FBI. She had two main pleasures in Buckhannon; one were her many fl'iends at the Upshur County Senior Center. Sec- ond, no matter where she might be, in the hospital or wherever, she insisted that we get the Wednesday Record Delta, so she could read 'Pat's Chat.' Your articles brought many smiles to her, and kept her aware of the people and activity in Burnsville. Thank you for your articles. Mary Lea Sackett Powell." I am sure that you, with me, extend our deepest sympathies to the Sackett family. I also received an e-mail that reported on William Jones. He is re- sponding well to treatments, and the tumor has reduced in size. The family wants to thank you for all your prayers. Call me or e-mail your news to me. I will be here in Kansas City until July 26. Thank you for your continued prayers for Robin. Tuesday, June 30, we go for the laser treatlnent to her retinal lear. This is her biggest concern. The broken bones will heal, but this tear, as we under- stand it, can only be fixed to, hope- fully, prevent detachment, sort of "sandbagging" it (that is MY word, not the doctor' s), for prevention rather than healing it. May God bless each of you abun- dantly above all that you could ask or think. Maranatha/ Dot Freyl of Tanner, states that many of her friends are not getting TV reception, even after they bought the new digital conversion boxes. She also complains that, in addi- tion to the box, TV analog antenna customers have to buy a special an- tenna and cable. The converter boxes are needed for each TV, as well. She's frustrated that she can't get any TV reception anymore. If you are having TV reception problems, it would be wise to contact the Public Service Commission of West Virginia to register your con> plaint (800-642-8544). Or, if you want to personally trouble-shoot the prob- lems, log-on to: dtv.gov or dtvanswers, com.
