Word has been received that Mrs. Zona Bush of Baltimore, Md. is in the hospital. She was a former resident of Cox's Mills, is a member of the Cox's Mills United Methodist Church, and also a member of the Cox's Mills United Methodist Women. We wish her a speedy recovery. Mary Tallhamer spent a week in Elyria, Ohio, visiting relatives. Olive Church, Burnt House, at 7:30 p.m. July 17, 18-The Gilmer County "lraiIriders will hold a trallrtde and campout starting at I p.m. at Clark Minney's. Non-members will be charsed a small fee for food. July 17-A Democratic rally will be held at 7 p.m. at the Gilmmr County Recreation Center. Guest speaker will be Glenn B. Gainer, Jr., nominee for State Auditor. July 18 - The annual Greenlief reunion will be held at the Greenlief Camp on Lower Big Run of Horn Creek. Bring a picnic lunch. July 18-The Moyers family reunion will be held at the Gilmer County Recreation Center. July 20--The Glenville Elementary PTA will hold 8 meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Gllmer County High School. JULY 22-The Gllmer County Health Dept. will hold a blood pressure and diabetic screening clinic h-ore 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and from I p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at 809 Mineral Rd. A nutritinnlst will also be on hand. July 2S-The Bailey family reunion will be held at the Broad Run Baptist Church besinning at 2:30 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch. July 25-The Kuhl family reunion will be held at AJrbuckle Park. Bring 8 picnic lunch. Mr. and Mrs. John Gabrick and their two children of New Jersey recently visited her mother, Mrs. Ruth Reed. Mrs. Vera Davis of Glenville spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Warder Lowther of Linn. David Bailey, son of Mrs. Lena and the late Guy F. Bailey, was visiting the family last week. David has been in the Air Force 151/2 years. He is stationed at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. His mother and sister and Mrs. Brenda Somerville met him at Parkersburg. His mother and sister and Mrs. Mida Peterson took him to the Charleston airport to see him off. Mrs. Lena Bailey, Opal Marsh and Mrs. Harry Miller attended the American Baptist Women's Con- ference at Alderson Broaddus College at Philippi, June 15-18. There were 300 women there all the time and about 400 in the daytime. The Reck Grove. Doyle Chapel and The Glenvme Democrat/Pathfinder 9 Alum Bridge Churches held a loiht Bible School at the Alum Bride School, June 21-25. There were 100 in attendance including helpers. They held their final program at the Rock Grove Church Friday night. The Rock Grove Church held a Vesper Service Sunday night, July 5, with Mrs. Catherine Bailey as leader. Immediately after, Rev. Charles Mullens held a Baptismal servic e, along the creek bank at "Bud" and Lucille Messenger's home. Timothy Adams and "Bud" Messenger were baptized, Mrs. Lena Bailey had a weenie roast for her family the evening of July 4. In attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Don Peterson of Horner, Mrs. Brenda Somerville of Cox's Mill, Mr. and Mrs, James Bailey, Jeff and Norman fret• Linn.
