Page 12-- The Glenville Democrat-- Thursday, July 16, 2009 By Sheree Henderson The Mainstreet Revitalization Gang worked diligently to spruce up the downtown; Eight seniors from GCHS, along with three teachers and several volunteers from the local Sidewalk Gang, spent the morning washing win- dows, sweeping sidewalks and repotting planters on Main Street. The community service :project was coordinated between Nasia Butcher, principal of GCHS, and Sheree Henderson, local volunteer. The group gath- ered Monday morning and, with supplies provided by the city, the FRN and local volunteers began working on getting the down- town spruced up. Several local businesses, including the Coun, try Store Museum on Court Street, had their windows washed, and the sidewalks all along the business fronts were swept and weeded. The two planters in front of the CRI thrift shop were also refilled with new soil. Several members of the lo- cal Sidewalk Gang were present to lend a hand to the students, included Kristi Bennington, including Stan Mazzigotte and Ceterika Waddell, Adeana stepson, Anthony Frye, whopro- Cottrill, Zech Cosner, Curtis vided many of the supplies, as Carr, Derrick Minneyl Sarah well as labor throughout the Millburn and Catherine Butcher, morning.
