Now Mary and her family need another miracle. Mary will be going to the children's hospital in Chicago to undergo open heart surgery. She will be there for 3-4 weeks and her family needs the community's support to help her family financially to be able to stay with Mary through her surgery and her hospital stay. Marsh Memorial Run Organizers and friends of Mary Sunshine will be holding a carwash at Glenville McDonald's, August 2 starting at 9:00 a.m. Also, there will be a spaghetti dinner August 2 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the 33 Country Club, dine in or carry-out, please come out on Saturday to one or both of these events to help Mary and her family. Gilmer County Sherrif's Dept. Report On July 2, 2003, Scott A, Whytsell, 38, driwng a 1999 bur- gundy Jeep, which he owns, was traveling West on Rte. 5, toward Stout's Mills, when a vehicle from the other direction entered Whytsell's traffic lane. Whytsetl moved his Jeep as far to the right as possible, but was still swiped by the oncoming driver, who did not stop. On July 13, 2003, Shirley Mae Mclntyre, 34, of Shirley, W. Va., was parked in front of the Sommerville Exxon stationin Linn. According to Mclntyre's police re- port, a bee flew down her shirt, incit- ing her to accelerate her gold 2000 Ford Ranger to 5 mph, moving the truck over a concrete parking barrier and into a Pepsi machine and an ice machine. On July 14, 2003, Nathan Antonio Batten, 23, of Tanner, driving a white 1990 Ford Mustang through Leading Creek, reported that he saw a red truck "coming off the hill;" when Batten pulled over to let the car by, the car struck Barton's Mustang, knocking him over the hill.
