Also, a half head of cabbage I had put in the refrigerator crisper. In the center of the half head which a tree or flower-looking growth appeared. I had one vine of yellow squash in the garden that had several double squash which would have been a triple squash if I hadn't of picked it, The bloom is on the end of the double one. Planting a garden is hard work but very interesting. Many of our residents love to see the setting up, the enjoyment, and the taking down of the rides. A few of our residents were able to go over and look around at the carnival. While taking in the festivities with these residents, our assistant activity director Becky Kelley was able to talk to a couple al;out our home and the residents here. Becky stopped by Mobley Concessions (where the funnel cakes were made) and met Sharon and Bud Mobley who are with Perry Amusement. After talking with the, Mobleys who have had a family member in a nursing facility, they told Becky how great that they felt it was to bring residents to the carnival. The following evening, these nice people donated and delivered twelve delicious funnel cakes over to the facility for the residents to share. This was so nice of them! Many of our residents couldn't make it to the carnival, buy being able to enjoy the funnel cakes made them feel like they were right there in the action. Thanks again Mobley Concessions-we will never forget your kindness and generosity. Thursday, we went to Glenville Senior center Marjorie James. Leota Swiger and Bernard Weaver, along with Brenda Marks (Activity Director) and Amber James (Admissions/Marketing Director). Margorie and Bernard saw several fo~ks that they know. Leota is from Calhoun Co. so hopefully she will get to know the Glenville seniors a little better on her next visit This was a special trip for Lc0ta. She was there when the center had their open house and this was the first time .~he was ever there for dinner. Good times, and special friends are always at the segior center. ! know that everyone has very busy schedules, and with school starting socm, it doesn't get any easier. I f you ever have an extra ten minutes during your day our even on your way home from work- stop in and say hello to someone you know az our home. Just a few minutes of reminiscing with a resident can mean so much and add that special touch to their day. You can make a difference!
