Page 14 -- The Glenville Democrat/Pathfinder-- Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 ! ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR SON, BOB RADABAUGH, THE ENVIRONMENTALIST ! watched him catch that little moth, (Bob was 15 then.) I'd tried to swat with my dustin' cloth. "That's not good, Morn, don't you know, God put them here a long time ago. They lived before man on God's green earth, And it was much later He gave man birth. That gives them priority, like all God's things, And still gives us room to play and sing. AWARDS won by TRIO PETROLEUM, which was owned at that time by Ed Broome and lke Morris, while Bob worked as Trio's Environmental Technician: 1982 = Commendable Performance Reclamation Award 1984 = FIRST Place Reclamation Award 1985 = FIRST Place Reclamation Award 1986 = Commendable Performance Reclamation Award 1990 = Nominated for Reclamation Award 1991 = FIRST Place Reclamation Award AWARDS won by S & R GAS VENTURES. owned by Bob Radabaugh and Jim Stout: And, Mom, if we take care of this playground, . It'll be around when we're Heaven bound. You see, Morn, PRIORITY is the name of the game. They were here before we came. (He very carefully took the moth across the road and turned it loose.) Bob worked for the U., S. Dept. of Interior and the W. Va. Dept. of Agriculture and Natural Resources from April 1976 to August 1981. Much of this time was spent with the Water Resources Division. His great concern for the environment found its reflection in the eyes and hearts of other people, and in 1981, he was asked by Ed Broome to become the Environmental Technician for Trio Petroleum which was owned by Ed Broome and Ike Morris. In 1982, while working for Trio Petroleum as their Environmental Technician, Bob started planting wildlife-attracting grasses at well sites. Bob Stewart, Supervising Inspector for the Dept. of Energy's Oil and Gas Division, praised the Trio Wildlife Program, and said to Skip Johnson of the Charleston Gazette, "As far as I know, Trio's WILDLIFE PROGRAM is UNIQUE in the state." Two other companies which very quickly started this program tere Waco Oil and Gas Inc. owned by Ike Morris and Eastern American Energy Corporation - taken from Northeast Oil World, April 1992. J In 1984, Bob started Radabaugh Environmental Services, which provides services to oil, gas, and timber industries. Bob is a Co-Author of "Managing Oil and Gas Well Sites for Wildlife" and he is also a Co-Author of an "Environmental Safety Manual." Bob has been a member of I.O.G.A. (Independe Oil & Gas Association of West Virginia) since 1981. He has helped to pass 16 environmental laws in Charleston. From 1988 to 1993, he was Chairman of I.O.G.A.'s Environmental Committee. From 1990 to 1993, he was a member of I.O.G.A.'s Board of Directors. In in 2000 = Was awarded I.O.G.A.'s FIRST PLACE Reclamation Award in Category 4 2001 = Was Awarded I.O.G.A.'s SECOND PLACE Reclamation Award in Category 4 2002 = Was Awarded I.O.G.A.'s SECOND PLACE Reclamation Award in Category 4 2003 = Was Awarded I.O.G.A's FIRST PLACE Reclamation Award in Category 4 1998, S. & R Gas Ventures was awarded the "THE BEST ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT in the NORTHEAST REGION" for their Salt Water Treatment and Disposal Systems (shown on this page). Bob Radabaugh and Stan Masoner had developed the concept of a Salt Water treatment and Disposal System in the late 1980's. S & R Gas Ventures had built two of these and had them in operation in Gilmer County at the time the award was given. There are SIX REGIONS in the U.S. = Northeast, Gulf Coast, Mid-continent, Permian Basin, Rocky Mountains, and Pacific Region. The NORTHEAST REGION goes north to Canada, east tot he Atlantic Ocean, west to the Mississippi River. and south to the northern border of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississipl:Y. (Taken from Hart's Oil & Gas World, June 1998.) 2003, Bob was still Vice Chairman of the I.O.G.A. Environmental Committee and Vice Chairman of the I.O.G.A. Safety Committee. Yes, I used to wonder about my son's expertise, Being so concerned about God's animals and trees. From a very young child, he had this concern; About all this, he was so quick and eager to leam. Now. I sit back, and I know God had a plan; Right from the first when he planned for this man. The big stress of today is about environmental pollution; Therefore, He must bring forth those who would supply a solution, To keeping all God's animals in a healthy atmosphere, That life might continue for another few hundred years. From HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOB! a VERY PROUD MOTHER and DAD, Mary Ann and Bill Radabaugh In 1994, Bob was awarded I.O.G.A.'s DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD for 1993. In 1994, Bob was elected as Chairman of the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center/Glenville State College Community College Division Steering Committee for the Environmental Technology Program. Bob has given MANY presentation on Environmental Topics to many groups. He has held Training Seminars and been Workshop Instructor many times. WV Office Oil & Gas Erosion Control & Environmental Regulation WorkShop Instructor (1984-1993) WV Dept. of Energy Oil Spill Training Seminar (1987) Alamco Oil Spill Training Seminar (1991-1994) WV D.E.P. And VERY BIG SALUTE to ALL of our WEST VIRGINIA OIL and GAS COMPANIES who have worked SO HARD on environmental control, trying to keep a clean environment, using good reclamation practices, and many of whom attempt to refurbish the livelihood of wild life. It is my understanding that WEST VIRGINIA STANDS AT THE HEAD OF THE LIST IN ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL! The above article was' taken from copies of the IOGA Annual Report, Northeast Oil World, The American Oil and Gas Reporter, IOGA News, Hart's oil and Gas World, and the Charleston Gazette newspaper. 1997-2000, he was elected to I.O.G,A.'s Board of Directors to fill the unexpired term of Richard R.
