Pictured above, she walks the commissioners through the acceptance of a $50,000 grant, which will be used to purchase a new tractor for the Gilmer County Recreation Center, during the County's regular monthly meeting on Wed., Aug. 5. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT ASKS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE m Commissioners hear tram Health Department Office Manager Connie Hacker and Board of Health Chairman Gene Johnson for the second month in a row. The Health Department is requesting assistance with an on-going and statewide funding crisis. While the commission agreed to extend an interest free loan to the department until their funding came through, these representatives say that isn't sufficient to rectify the 3roblem. A COMEDIC BREAK ~ Courthouse employees and the commission representatives shared a laugh Best Care Pharmacy ] during Wednesday's lunch hour. The employees provided President Chapman a pair of "flip-flop" sandles in order to quell his strict adherence to professional dress code. Saying he was a "gOod sport," Chapman donned the sandles for a few minutes, remarking on how well they matched his tie.
