Mr, and Mrs. Grover Smith, Jr,, Roger, Becky and Danny of Grafton, Ohio recently spent a week visiting relatives and friends in this area, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Fisher and Burt from Elyria, Ohio recently visited friends and relatives in this area. Rhonda Parsons and Becky Beall recently traveled to Delaware with Mrs. Jones, a teacher at Normantown Elementary School, Mr. Harley Alltop and daughter, Cindy, from Graflon, Ohio and Mr. Marlin Alltop from Chicago, Ill. recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Alltop and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Beall. RHOADES PLUMBING Et FURNITURE 15 Powell St. Glenville Phone 462-7355 WE SERVICE ONL Y WHAT WE SELL Performers highlight art center's open house The Gilmer County Center for the Performing Arts will hold an open house for fall registration this Saturday, Sept. 11 beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting all day. Greg Schneider, a drama teacher at Glenville State College and director of last summer's repertory theatre at West Virginia University, will give a performance at 5 p.m. Melody Wilt, the center's director, will also perform Saturday evening, as will a group of local musicians. The center will be offering two new classes this fall. An artist's workshop will be taught on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to I p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Painting. sketching and portrait work will be taught. A community theatre workshop will also begin this fall. Schneider will direct this group. The group will begin performing plays later this fall. Am I eligible for tutorial assistance? A - No. This is only payable where a veteran is attending school on a post-secondary level. Q - I am under waiver of part of my military retired pay in order to receive VA compensation. Should I qualify for the VA clothing allowance because of my prosthetic device, will this also be deducted from my retired pay? A - No. It is not necessary for a veteran in receipt of retired pay to waive any portion of his retirement pay in order to receive the clothing allowance.
