Libby Bush, formerly of GL_lmer County. has done very well as a basketbaU star for the Buckhannon Upshur team. In ten games this season she has averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds. She averaged 15 points per game last year when she was named to the all-area tournament team at the close of last season after her team took the Central W. Ya. Invitational Tourna- ment held in Harrison County. Mida Peterson and Danny Lantz coach the girl's team. Mida is a graduate of Troy High School and Glenville College. She is the former Mida Bailey. Libby is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gertrude Bush of Tanner and Lt. and Mrs. Paul Shaver of Parkersburg. I,t. Shaver was formerly a conserva- tion officer in Gilmer County. She is the niece of Mr. Wyene Turner of Tanner and of Harry Bush, a former Glenville High coach. A first drum majorette with the Buckhannon-Upshur Band, Libby is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy D. Bush. Her mother, the former Judy Shaver is a 1956 graduate of GlenviUe High School. Her father graduated from Tanner High in 1952. She has three brothers and one sister who all participate in the county sports program. Send in subs -iption renewe/s Youth Council raising transplant funds Gilrner Co. Community Action Youth Council is working in an organized effort to help Jr. Ball obtain a kidney transplant at Morgantown Hospital the first of the New Year. The Youth Council is collecting empty* cigarette packages to be turned in, in exchange for funds to aid in the cost of the operation.
