The meeting was called to or- der by President Mary White. Devotions wcrc led by Mossic Taggart who read two readings about Christmas customs in Old Russia. Ellenora read the Christ- mas story, second chapter St. Luke verses one thru twenty about the birth of Jesus Christ. Mary White explained to the group how to make a raffocly an- gel and how to make an large mouse. Arm Nicholson was the pro- gram leader. She arranged to have Donna Rahalf from Fayevillc to demonstrate to the group how to decorate Christmas baskeLs. Mossie Taggart, Rosalee Davis and Ellenora Homer each reported three hours volunteer hours to the blood bank this month. Mary White thanked everyone who took pan in the Holiday House December 6. There will be a council meeting January 7 at 7:00 p.m. There was a discussion on how to improve next year's Holiday House. The club had an exchange of gifts. Donna had a drawing for the basket she made. It was won by Rosalee Davis. Ann had a beautiful Christmas tree and decorations and served delicious refreshments. Those present were Mary Charles Jenkins of Columbia Station, Ohio is pictured with some of the produce raised in his vegetable garden. Gardening is one of Charles' main hobbies since the completion of the One R~u~m School House project. The ~eds for these giants were purchased in Gilmer County at Appcon. The turnips measured seven inches in diameter and 21 inches around and weighed ~ven pounds. The radishes pictured mea- sured 15 inches long and 10 inches around and weighed live pounds.
