&lt;! i The Glenville Democrat/ Patldinder December 29, 1977 Braxton County tops Gilmer, 59-55 ::7 L Keith Bragg. a 6-5 center, pumped in 22 points to lead all scorers in the game in powering the Braxton County Eagles to a 59-55 victory over the Gilmer County Titans in a game played Thursday, December 22, at the Glenville State College gymnasium. The game was nip.and-tuck all the way with Gilmer having better. balanced scoring. The Titans came out in the final quarter in a full-court pressure defense. They trailed Braxton 41-37 at the end of three periods. The Eagles were initially unable to cope with the pressure tactics and when Allen Kniceley missed a layup with 7:23 flashing on the scoreboard dock and proceeded to foul Bruce Smith it gave the Titans an opportunity to iump on top in the game. Smith made huth ends of a one-and-one situation to DONNIE MINNEY [ 14 ] of Braxton was hit with a foul on this play as he tried to block Danny Smith's [20] shot in the December 2(I Braxton-Gilmer game.
